No free lunch.
One of the first things I learned about Kevin is that he is a hard worker. His mother, having grown up on a farm in Wisconsin during the Depression, instilled in him at an early age the value of hard work. We are trying to do the same in our own home, something of a return to more traditional values. So, when we have a project to do, like spreading new mulch in our play area, we try to modify the task so that the boys can help (so much for child labor laws, huh?). The boys filled the trash can, which Daddy dumped into the wheelbarrow to take to the backyard. They enjoyed the work and were rewarded with a pizza at lunchtime. Will now has a chores list, which includes stripping the sheets off his bed, emptying trash cans, feeding the cat, emptying the silverware caddy of the dishwasher, and doing the grocery shopping (okay, you caught me, just kidding on the last one!).

I love it! Aron likes to help with various things and a chores list sounds like a good idea....
Right now his favorites are helping Daddy in the yard and putting dirty clothes in the hamper.
