Meet Jack.

We spent the weekend in Beeville, and on Friday evening this little guy (the cat, that is) showed up on my mom's front porch. She gave it a saucer of milk, and we started teasing her and congratulating her on pet ownership. We had every intention of giving this cat to the animal shelter. Really, we did. But he took a liking to my children, chasing them around the back yard and tolerating very gracefully Joseph's solid left-handed pitch. (He throws the ball to the kitty, not understanding that kitty can't catch.) He would greet us at the gate when we returned to Mom's after running errands, like a loyal dog. And he may have the loudest purr I've ever heard from a kitten. Kevin and I looked at each other and agreed that we have sucker written in kitty-visible ink on our foreheads. He purred the whole way home to San Antonio. He is Jack. And we're pretty smitten with this kitten.

Oh, I shall not tell cousin Aron that your boys have a Kitty. He will be so jealous! Poor boy has a passion for Kitties and a Mommy who is allergic and a Daddy who just don't like 'em!
Jack looks like a cutie, though! (Sucker)
