Hide and seek.

When we were in Wisconsin over the fourth of July, the boys' cousins, Ben and Jacob, taught them how to play hide and seek. Will quickly grasped the concept, and enjoyed both the hiding and the seeking. He is not a very observant seeker, however, and several times would walk right by a table under which his cousin lurked quietly. The hilarious part is that sometimes Joseph would see his cousin, point and open his eyes widely, then obediently follow big brother. Joseph is definitely a liability and not an asset when it comes to this game. He doesn't want to stay in a hiding place by himself for longer than a nanosecond, so he has to be chaperoned. A couple of weeks ago, Joseph and I were hiding in the bathtub behind the shower curtain. I ardently explained the rules, Joseph, you have to be quiet so brother doesn't find us! Aw-wight, Mommy! he answered enthusiastically, then almost immediately struck up conversation with me. Mommy, where is my engine Gordon? Turn de lights on, Mommy. I ready to get out. And then, BRUDDER, WE ARE IN DE BAFTUB!

But now it looks like we are making progress! Here is Joseph, spontaneously but not very effectively hiding himself in one of the kitchen cabinets!
"Here I yam, Mommy, I'm wight here!"
